    Lancaster – Melton Peace Keepers Civitan Club is Starting in KCK

    Civitan, an International Community Service Organization is building a new Civitan Club in Kansas City, Kansas. The new club is meeting on April 12th at 6 PM at The Dotte Spot, 8123 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS.

    The new club is named the Lancaster – Melton Peace Keepers Civitan Club in memory of Detective Brad Lancaster, Capt. Robert Melton, of the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department as well as all of the other officers that are currently serving or have served in the KCKPD as well as other agencies in the Metro area. The club also welcomes people who have a “Pay It Forward” outlook on community service.

    The Lancaster-Melton Peace Keepers Civitan Club is sponsored by the Lawrence ACTION Civitan Club. A spokesman said the club’s main objectives are to keep the two officers’ memory alive by working together on projects that improve the community, increase the knowledge and support of law enforcement officers in the community, as well as supporting positive efforts to help make the community a better place to live, work, and play.

    Civitan Club membership is open to ALL community members who are at least 18 years old and of good character. The club’s next organizational meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. on April 12th at The Dotte Spot, 8123 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. The meeting should be over at about 7:30 p.m. #civitan100
