Today’s forecast: Hot and humid

Hot and humid conditions will persist through the middle part of the week, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, and heat indices in the mid 90s to near 100, according to the National Weather Service.

Storms will return to the forecast late Wednesday and will persist into the first half of Thursday, the weather service said. Severe weather is not expected at this time.

The Missouri and Kansas rivers in Wyandotte County currently are below flood stage and below action stage.

Today, it will be sunny with a high near 92 and heat index values as high as 96, with a southwest wind of 6 to 8 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 72 and a south southeast wind of 5 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.

Tuesday, it will be sunny with a high of 91 and heat index values as high as 95, with a south wind of 5 to 10 mph, the weather service said.

Tuesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 73 and a south wind of 3 to 6 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 90 and a south wind of 3 to 7 mph, the weather service said.

Wednesday night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 71, according to the weather service.

Thursday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m., with a high near 88, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be mostly cloudy, with a low of 71, according to the weather service.

Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high near 87, the weather service said.

Friday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 70, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 83, the weather service said.
