Today’s high will be near 80, according to the National Weather Service, with a slight chance of thunderstorms tonight.

Severe weather is not expected with 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms, according to the weather service. A few strong storms are possible in the region, with hail up to quarter-size and gusty winds in the strongest storms.

Temperatures will warm up later in the week, with highs reaching the mid to upper 80s by Thursday, the weather service said. Humid conditions will raise the heat index to nearly 90 degrees.

Thunderstorms will be possible on the weekend, and severe storms cannot be ruled out at this time, according to the weather service.

Missouri River flooding continues in some cities. The Missouri River at Parkville, a gauge on I-435 which covers the Wyandotte County area, is currently in action stage, below flood stage and declining. The Missouri River at St. Joseph, Missouri, and Atchison, Kansas, is currently in minor flood stage and is declining. The Missouri River at Leavenworth, Kansas, is in action stage and declining, according to hydrology charts.

Today, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 80 and a south southeast wind of 7 to 9 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., with a low of 61 and a south southwest wind of 3 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.

Wednesday, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 81, the weather service said. A light and variable wind will become east southeast at 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 65, and a south southeast wind of 6 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Thursday, it will be sunny, with a high near 87 and a south southwest wind of 9 to 15 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph, the weather service said.

Thursday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 67, according to the weather service.

Friday, it will be sunny with a high near 85, the weather service said.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 67, according to the weather service.

Saturday, there will be a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., with a high near 81, the weather service said.

Saturday night, there is a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers, according to the weather service. The low will be around 62.

Sunday, it will be partly sunny, with a high near 75, the weather service said.

Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 58, according to the weather service.

Monday, there will be a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 78, the weather service said.
