The Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities will review the 2020 proposed budget during a workshop to be held Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The workshop will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the BPU administration building, 540 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kansas.
The Dec. 4 workshop will include budget reviews for the administrative division, accounting, customer service, human resources, electric production, electric supply, electric operations and technology, and water divisions.
The final budget will be presented to the board for approval during the Dec. 18 BPU meeting.
The BPU board will hold a work session at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at 540 Minnesota Ave.
On the agenda for the work session will be a board update, general manager update and online services report.
The regular BPU meeting will follow at 6 p.m. Dec. 4.
On the agenda for the regular meeting will be a visitors’ time, customer research results, October financial report, board comments and general manager comments.
Blood donations are urgently needed between Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to the Red Cross.
Individuals are asked to give a pint of blood this holiday season by making an appointment to donate and help the American Red Cross make sure a sufficient supply is available for patients throughout the holiday season, a spokesman stated.
Those with type O blood are especially needed, according to the spokesman.

Shooting reported on Hiawatha
A shooting into an occupied dwelling was reported at 5 a.m. Dec. 2 in the 3000 block of Hiawatha Street in Kansas City, Kansas, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Unknown suspects fired several rounds into the residence, a victim stated. There were no injuries reported.
