Unified Government committees are scheduled to meet starting at 5 p.m. Monday, March 2, at the fifth floor conference room, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kansas.
On the agenda for the Neighborhood and Community Development meeting is an ordinance to amend vacant property registration. The ordinance would require registration after a public notice of mortgage default is filed.
Also on the NCD Committee agenda are applications for Land Bank, including:
• 715 H N. 7th St., Joseph Woodbury, yard extension;
• 1714 Greeley, Bright Solutions LLC, duplex;
• 2921 S. 53rd St., Smart Solutions LLC, single family;
• 808 Splitlog Ave., transfer from the Land Bank, single-family houses, Greater Pentecostal Temple;
• 233 N. 10th St., transfer from the Land Bank, single family, Greater Pentecostal Temple;
• 907 Tenny Ave., transfer from the Land Bank, single family, Greater Pentecostal Temple.
Also on the agenda is an update on the Land Bank rehab program.

On the EDF agenda:
• The 2020 comprehensive fee schedule.
• A resolution to amend the master equipment lease purchase agreement with Banc of America Public Capital Corp.
• A resolution for the Westfield Community Improvement District. The CID would impose an addition 1 percent of sales tax on the sales of goods and services within the 9 acres of Westfield Shopping Center, 8051 State Ave. A public hearing date of April 16 could be set to discuss the CID. A petition was filed Jan. 29 for the CID, and a development agreement will be considered.
• An update and resolution authorizing gap funding of $15,000 for an economic feasibility study for the Rock Island Bridge project. The funding is proposed to come from the transient guest tax.
• An amendment to the KC Foodie Park Development Agreement, extending the construction start date to 150 days after closing on the first phase property.
Shooting reported on South 10th
Officers responded to a suspicious person report about 8:54 p.m. March 1 in the 100 block of South 10th Street, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
When they arrived, officers found a victim with a gunshot wound, according to the report. The victim, who had non-life-threatening injuries, did not cooperate with police, according to the report.
Chase reported on Fairfax Trafficway
Officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle at 3:21 p.m. March 1 in the 3000 block of North Fairfax Trafficway, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
The vehicle did not stop and a pursuit was begun, according to the report. The pursuit went a short distance and was terminated, police stated. The vehicle was recovered, and the suspects fled on foot, according to the report.
Two homes hit by gunfire
Victims were inside a home at 6:21 p.m. March 1 when they heard gunshots fired, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
Two houses next to each other had been hit, according to the report. A juvenile was inside the victim’s home, the report stated. No injuries were reported.
Rape reported
A rape was reported at 10:57 p.m. March 1, according to a social media post by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department.
According to the report, the suspect had sexual intercourse with the victim after the victim said no. The suspect fled. While police were at the scene, the suspect returned and was taken into custody, according to the report.

To the north and west, there is the possibility of light snow this morning, but high pressure is expected to move in, making conditions dry in the Kansas City area. The shortwave trough will bring mostly cloudy skies later today. As a result, highs will be kept down to the lower 50s today.
A cold front may move through the area on Thursday, but it will be dry, and highs are expected to remain in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
