An injury-accident was reported at 12:22 p.m. Jan. 1 on I-635 southbound just south of State Avenue in Kansas City, Kan.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a 2013 Chevy was southbound on I-635. For an unknown reason, the Chevy veered left and struck the inside guard rail. The vehicle continued southbound without stopping, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver, a 46-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, went to a hospital with a possible injury, the trooper’s report stated.
Kansas City, Kan., police are investigating a death of a man in the 1800 block of North 47th.
Officers were dispatched to the address around 1:05 p.m. Jan. 1 to check on the welfare of a person lying on the ground, a spokesman said.
They found a man in his 50s dead, the spokesman said. The cause of death has not been determined.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending identification and family notification.
The Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
Fisher chopped walnuts, in the 8-ounce size, and Fisher pecan cookie pieces, in 8-ounce plastic bags, have been recalled because some of the products may be contaminated with salmonella, according to a John B. Sanfilippo and Son, Inc. company announcement.
Consumers who have purchased the items with certain “best by dates” at stores in Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, or online, should not consume it, the company stated. The “best by dates” were Oct. 31, 2015, through Nov. 3, 2015, and can be found on the back of the package.
The item should be returned to the store of purchase for a full refund or replacement, the company stated.
