Kansas City’s first Mental Health First Aid Day is planned for Thursday, July 10. Six sites throughout metropolitan Kansas City, including one in Kansas City, Kan., are participating in the event. A man who died April 20 in the 700 block of North 70th Terrace has been identified, a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman said. The man who died was identified as Willie L. Henderson, 36, a resident of Kansas City, Kan. Police were called to the address about 12:40 p.m. April 20. The case is under review by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office, the police spokesman said. The cause of death has not been confirmed, police said. The Sunderland Foundation, which for 69 years has donated to many causes throughout the Kansas City area, has made the largest donation in its history to support the construction of a new hospital for The University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. The $2 million dollar grant will go toward Cambridge North, a new 92-bed hospital on the Kansas City, Kan., campus to support surgical oncology and neurosurgery. Derrick Miller Jr. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Derrick E. Miller Jr. graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
