There are representatives from Canada, Illinois, Kansas and Missouri at the show. The Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools Board of Education today set a timeline for its superintendent search. At a special 4 p.m. meeting Thursday, the school board got the selection process started. Requests for proposals from search firms will be submitted to the board by 5 p.m. Oct. 20, according to the timeline that was approved. The board is expected to then open the proposals within the next few days after the deadline, and select firms that it wants to interview for the search. Averaging nearly eight runs a game, the Blue Devils (32-23) will take a collective .355 batting average into opening round NJCCC Region 6 playoff action against Butler County (27-27) at El Dorado Saturday. The Blue Devils opened with a 13-1 win over Eastfield Community College on Friday and took the opening game of a doubleheader 9-8 on Saturday only to be blanked 7-0 in the nightcap and drop a 9-8 decision to Brookhaven on Sunday. The two teams meet in a doubleheader Saturday starting at noon but a twin bill previously scheduled for Sunday has been canceled. Trailing State Fair 12-5 after five innings, the Blue Devils rallied in both the seventh and eighth innings for a wild 14-13 opening game and then posted a 9-1 5-inning win in the night cap.
