A shooting into an occupied home was reported at 10:18 a.m. Monday, March 30, in the 2600 block of Wood Avenue, according to a social media report by the Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department. A suspect fired a round and hit the residents, according to the report. Kansas Democrats announced Monday that they would conduct the presidential primary completely by mail because of the COVID-19 pandemic. A man was shot about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, in the 1300 block of Central Avenue. A Kansas City, Kansas, Police spokesman stated that officers received a report of shots fired and went to the 1300 block of Central, where they discovered that a man in his early 70s had been shot. The UG’s 2020 Valuation Report shows that most areas of Wyandotte County will see a 5 to 10 percent median valuation increase. The northeast and downtown area will see a 10 percent to 13 percent increase, while the Piper area will see a 1 to 4 percent median valuation increase. February was a good month for state-owned casino gaming revenues, and the revenues were helped by an extra day in the month. According to Keith Kocher, director of program assurance and integrity for the Kansas Lottery, said gaming revenues at Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, Kansas, and the other state-owned casinos last month were some of the best ever reported for February. Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a shooting during a burglary in the 1900 block of Minnesota Avenue, according to a spokesman. A preliminary investigation indicated that during the aggravated burglary of a residence, an occupant of the home confronted and shot the suspect, the police spokesman stated.
