Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 5900 block of State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas. According to a police spokesman, officers responded to the 5900 block of State Avenue on a reported shooting about 2:08 p.m. Sept. 1. They found a man in the street with apparent gunshot wounds, the spokesman stated. Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department personnel also responded and confirmed the victim had died as a result of his injuries. PiperFest continues Sunday PiperFest, a community festival, will continue Sunday, Sept. 29, at Piper High School, 4400 N. 107th St., Kansas City, Kansas. A previously announced schedule for PiperFest has been changed because of the rain and storms. The car show will be on Sunday. A fatal accident was reported about 7:31 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, in the 4100 block of North 59th Street, according to Kansas City, Kansas, police. A police spokesman said an initial investigation showed that a single vehicle was northbound on North 59th Street when it left the roadway. One driver, a man in his early 40s, was found deceased at the scene, the police spokesman stated.
