Two students from Kansas City, Kansas, are working on the Gilbert and Sullivan production of “Pirates of Penzance” which opens tonight at Kansas State University, Manhattan. Anthony Bandy, a senior in music theater, is a light board operator for the production; and Donovan Watts, a junior in theater, is in the role of Police in the production. Both are from Kansas City, Kansas. The production will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 to March 2 and at 2:30 p.m. March in McCain Auditorium on the K-State campus. A sport utility vehicle overturned in a crash on Jan. 1, shortly after the new year began, on eastbound I-70 near the 18th Street Expressway in Kansas City, Kansas. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Nissan Armada was eastbound when a black sedan cut it off about 12:35 a.m. Jan 1. The Armada swerved to the left, the driver lost control and struck the barrier wall, overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side, according to the trooper’s report. Sporting Kansas City will move to a mobile-only ticketing system at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, ahead of the 2019 season. The Wildcats sprang to an early lead, taking a 10-point advantage midway through the first quarter. The Wildcats found plenty of success driving the lane for layups.
