Kansas City, Kansas, police are investigating a homicide in the 3100 block of Mellier Avenue. Officers responded about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, to the location on reports of a shooting, a police spokesman stated. Officers located a victim, a man in his 30s, who had been shot, the spokesman stated. The man was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Mellier Avenue is between Parallel Parkway and Brown Avenue. The incident is under investigation by the police department’s Major Case Unit. A Kansas City, Kansas, police officer shot a suspect Tuesday night in the 1500 block of North 25th Street, according to a police spokesman. Police responded to an armed disturbance call just before 11 p.m. July 31, and officers were told that a suspect had tried to break into a car, the spokesman stated.
