Firefighters turned out in large numbers for a Unified Government Commission special session Thursday that took aim at trading shifts and other items. They did not get to speak at the meeting, and that has ruffled some feathers. The Unified Government Commission heard a presentation about community mental health services from Wyandot Center and Wyandot Inc. on Thursday evening, including how it plans to restart the Frank William Center for the homeless. A flier attributed to the Clinton campaign had the correct address for the Wyandotte County Democratic caucus in the 4th District. by Mary Rupert On Monday, some letters were received in Wyandotte County that gave the wrong address for a Saturday, March 5, Democratic caucus location. A pedestrian and a truck on the right shoulder of I-70 were struck by a vehicle mirror about 9:13 a.m. Jan. 29, according to a Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report. Authors Lisa Cindrich and Jay Sparks have found that working together on their books has made their writing stronger. Collaborating on their recent books, “Executables” and “Whatever It Takes,” the two authors, who also are librarians at the Kansas City, Kan., Public Libraries, first get an idea and then hold a meeting to discuss the plot of their books.
