The Kansas Highway Patrol has released more information about a crash at 2:48 p.m. Sept. 2 on K-32 westbound at I-435 in Edwardsville, Kan.
Three vehicles, including two large trucks and a sport utility vehicle, were involved in the crash, the trooper’s report stated.
A Toyota Rav4 and a Kenworth semi pulling a trailer were stopped at a stoplight on westbound K-32 when a Kenworth box truck rear-ended the Toyota and pushed it into the semi, according to the trooper’s report.
Two persons in a Toyota Rav4 were injured and taken to a hospital, according to the trooper’s report.
The crash involved an extrication of persons from a vehicle, according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
The driver of the Toyota, a 27-year-old woman from Kansas City, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated. A passenger in the Toyota, a 26-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, also was injured and taken to the hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the Kenworth box truck, a 56-year-old man from Overland Park, Kan., was taken to the hospital with a possible injury, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Kenworth semi pulling a trailer, a 35-year-old man from Wichita, Kan., was not injured, according to the trooper’s report. A 43-year-old woman from Concord, N.C., riding in the semi also was not injured, the report stated.
A shooting death in the 500 block of Mission Creek in Edwardsville, Kan., is under investigation, according to the Edwardsville Police Department.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has been called in on the case, according to Edwardsville police.
Edwardsville officials said few details were available at this time.
A six-vehicle crash was reported at 12:22 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-435 near State Avenue, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
According to the trooper’s report, traffic had slowed when a Mazda 3 failed to slow and struck a Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Wrangler then moved forward and struck a Ford Fusion. A Ford Crown Victoria then hit the back of the Mazda 3.
A Ford Taurus then hit a Nissan Versa, which moved forward and struck the Crown Victoria, according to the trooper’s report.
The Ford Taurus left the scene of the accident, the trooper’s report stated.
The trooper’s report stated the driver of the Crown Victoria, a 62-year-old woman from Edwardsville, Kan., had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital.
A 25-year-old Shawnee, Kan., woman driving the Nissan Versa was injured and taken to the hospital, the report stated.
Not injured were the drivers of the Mazda 3, a 19-year-old man from Osceola, Mo.; the driver of the Jeep Wrangler, a 49-year-old woman from Romulus, Mich.; and the driver of the Ford Fusion, a 26-year-old woman from Olathe, Kan., according to the trooper’s report.
