An injury crash was reported on I-635 southbound at Kansas Avenue at 7:09 a.m. Dec. 30, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
A 2001 Pontiac was traveling southbound on I-635 and for an unknown reason, the driver lost control , left the roadway, and struck a bridge pillar, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Pontiac, a 29-year-old Kansas City, Kan., woman, was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
“Insects in the Garden” will be presented from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, in the Sunflower Room of the Wyandotte County Extension Office, 1208 N. 79th St., Kansas City, Kan.
Lynn Loughary, horticulture specialist with K-State Research and Extension, Wyandotte County, will present the program.
Those attending will learn to identify some of the most common beneficial insects and butterflies that frequent the area. Participants will learn how to protect, attract and maintain existing populations of “good bugs” by planting plants which provide shelter and nectar.
