Homicide victim identified from North 24th shooting

The victim of a homicide on Dec. 13 in the 1900 block of North 24th Street has been identified.

According to police, the victim was Tracy L. Williams, 43, a man who lived in Kansas City, Kan.

The victim was found inside a residence, dead from a gunshot wound.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

Police investigating homicide near 17th and Minnesota

Kansas City, Kan., police are investigating a homicide at 4:34 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in the 1700 block of Minnesota Avenue.

According to a police spokesman, officers found a man in his 20s, who had been shot in the parking lot.

He was taken to an area hospital, and at 1:14 p.m., he died from his injuries, the spokesman said.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and family notification.

Teen dies of injuries from shooting Friday night

A teenage male who was critically injured in a shooting Friday night in the 800 block of North 70th Terrace has died from his injuries, police said today.

He was identified as Kahlif L’ron Hampton, age 16, a resident of Kansas City, Kan. His family has been notified.

He and a 20-year-old woman were both inside a townhome when bullets came through the building and injured them.

The homicide remains under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit, which is encouraging anyone with information to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
